Phenolic pistons seem to have a tendency to warp.

On this set, the open end had gone out of round,causing them to not slide freely in the cylinder anymore, which causes increased brake wear and heat, or in my case, it was dragging bad enough to cause the rotor to get above boiling.

I see some manufacturers use metal pistons but it seems hard to get them for a Dodge caravan...
