Some friends and I went snow camping for one night, December 26th, 2017.
We drove from 200 feet elevation up to 2480 feet, then we hiked up to 3080 feet.
The snow was about a foot deep except under the trees it was only a couple inches deep, so most of the trail was very easy going since it was under the trees.
The temperature was just a bit under freezing the whole time so everything stayed dry except of course our boots, socks, pant-legs and gloves.
We all used hammocks but we also set up a small pop tent where we stuck our gear in case it snowed. Incidentally it only snowed for about 5 minutes.Report Video
